FAQ

1. Who/What is Inspire Northeast Wisconsin?

The "Who" behind Inspire Northeast Wisconsin is CESA 8's Center on Education for Economic Development or E4ED. The CESA 8 Center on Education for Economic Development is a regional center supporting the 27 school districts, communities, and businesses within the CESA 8 service region. Business, school district, and regional organization sponsorship allows us to focus on regional workforce development by promoting Northeast Wisconsin businesses to 21,000 students in Northeast Wisconsin as they engage in academic and career planning.  The "What" of Inspire Northeast Wisconsin is an online career-based learning platform where local businesses can connect directly with students to communicate with one another safely and securely. Under common circumstances, it is difficult for employers to know which local high school students may be interested in entering their field, while it is equally difficult for students to connect with local experts in their field of interest. Inspire breaks down these barriers, enabling employers, students, and educators to interact through a variety of real-world opportunities like job shadowing, employer profiles, teacher externships, and other work-based learning experiences.

2. What are the goals of Inspire Northeast Wisconsin? How is this accomplished?

Inspire Northeast Wisconsin’s web-based platform is powered by Xello. Through the use of the program, teachers, students, and administrators are able to monitor the student/career seekers progress to help facilitate their use.

3. Why do I need to undergo a background check to participate in Inspire Northeast Wisconsin?

Inspire Northeast Wisconsin does this to ensure that our web portal is a safe environment for our students/users. Applicants with minor offenses (e.g. traffic and other violations) will be accepted. Applicants with more serious offenses are evaluated according to internal guidelines per the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. All results are kept strictly confidential between the applicant and Inspire Northeast Wisconsin.
