Unique to the CESA 8 region, the Career Academy Teacher Externship (CATE) Program is a work-based learning opportunity designed to enhance the classroom curriculum with real-world career information and with continued connections with area businesses. Through this unique professional development opportunity, middle and high school teachers from among the 27 districts in the CESA 8 region are selected to work side-by-side with industry peers during a 3- to 5-day paid summer externship experience at participating Northeast Wisconsin businesses.
Becoming a CATE Business Partner
Recruiting CATE businesses takes place every year through the end of February. Any Northeast Wisconsin or Upper Michigan business can sign up to be a CATE business partner through the CESA 8 CATE program director. Click on the button to learn more about planning a CATE externship.
